Ins Blaue Hinein



Ins Blaue Hinein (eindexamenwerk 1998) is een serie foto's waarbij ik heb geëxperimenteerd om op ware grootte kasten te tekenen in de vrije ruimte; als alternatief voor het schetsen op papier. Omdat het schetsen op papier mij onbevredigde ben ik op zoek gegaan naar een directe manier van ontwerpen. Ik wilde de schets het eindresultaat laten zijn. De foto's zijn gemakt in een fotostudio, waarbij ik zelf geheel in het zwart een tl-looplamp met een gekleurd filter door de ruimte beweeg. Het haperende effect is een bijkomstigheid door de frequentie van het licht en is dus bij blauw anders dan bij rood. De transparantie van het licht geeft de foto bovendien een driedimensionaal effect. Je kan zien dat banen over en voor elkaar langslopen, terwijl ik zelf volledig onzichtbaar blijf.
De foto's zijn afgedrukt op fotopapier in verschillende formaten.

English: Ins Blaue Hinein (graduation work 1998) is a series of photos in which I experimented to draw cupboards, full size in free space; as an alternative to sketching on paper. Because sketching on paper was unsatisfying to me, I started looking for a direct way of designing. I wanted the sketch to be the end result. The photos were made in a photo studio, in which I myself, completely in black, move a fluorescent lamp with a colored filter through space. The faltering effect is a side effect due to the frequency of the light and is therefore different with blue than with red. The transparency of the light gives the photo extra three-dimensional effect. You can see orbits run over and under each other, while I remain completely invisible.
The photos are printed on photo paper in various sizes.
